Dr Saad Al-Khalaf
Dr Saad al-Khalaf, a consultant general psychiatrist with years of experience, is located in Guildford. He also covers areas of Hampshire and London. Dr Jennifer Laidlaw
Jennifer Laidlaw completed her MD at the University of British Columbia (UBC) prior to completing her residency in psychiatry with the University of Toronto. She was involved in medical education during her residency and has presented and published papers at international conferences on topics like delirium screening social media, and professionalism. She began her career at Surrey Memorial Hospital as the Head Consultation Liaison (CL), psychiatrist. Her main focus was developing a vibrant, highly collaborative CL service that provided psychotherapy to patients in the medical and surgical units including the Palliative Care and oncology Units. She also received a Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines for managing vulnerable patients in hospitals.
She is also the Provincial Practice Director for Psychiatry within BC Cancer, Clinical Associate professor at UBC and the past president of the BC Psychiatric Association. She is an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and adjunct faculty in the UM PM&R & Family Medicine residency programs. She has been interested for a long time in musculoskeletal education and research. She currently teaches Neuromuscular and musculoskeletal medicine to the Family Medicine residents and has ongoing research projects related to musculoskeletal health electrodiagnostic medicine, as well as performing arts medicine.
Dr. Pulkit Singh completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales prior to finishing her Psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia. While in training, she received the Psychotherapy Award and an Undergraduate Teaching Award to recognize her accomplishments in these areas. She has worked in various Psychiatry areas and has a special interest in Cardiac Psychiatry.
Dr. Nadeesha Fernando is a psychiatrist who works with people of all ages BC Cancer. She has a keen interest in Psychooncology, and is a fan of working with people who are older. She has been interested for a long time in geriatric psychotherapy and has served as a consultant to the Geriatric Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service and ECT service at Vancouver General Hospital. She is an educator and mentor for medical residents and students.
Dr. Theresa Lo
Dr Theresa Lo is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she completed her medical school and residency in psychiatry. She has worked for the BC Cancer Agency and Surrey Mental Health. She has a clinical practice that incorporates psychodynamic therapy and dialectical psychology. She is fluently able to speak Cantonese.
Dr Karim was educated at Guy's King's St Thomas' and St George's hospitals in London and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She is a member of the Specialist Register for the General Medical Council and has been in psychiatry practice for more than 20 years. She is interested in psychotherapy for children and adolescents.
Dr. Richford began her career as an RN, and later she pursued a doctorate at Dalhousie. She earned her MD in the year 1996. She has since worked in a variety of areas of Psychiatry and Psycho-oncology, with a particular focus on and Addiction Psychiatry and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. She is currently a staff psychiatrist at Providence Health Care, Vancouver General Hospital and BC Cancer - Vancouver, as well as a Clinical Associate Professor at UBC. She was the former president of the British Columbia Psychiatric Association.
